Active Learning offers a full comprehensive Physical Education PPA cover with structured National Curriculum guidelines. PPA cover can be carried out with single year groups or Key Stage groups jointly.

All variety of activities can be included into your PE curriculum and it is our aim to achieve maximum participation from all children in each lesson.

Holiday courses

Our holiday courses run throughout the year and they include football camps, multi-sport events and theatre production workshops. The football courses always prove to be successful, with large numbers wishing to improve their skills and learn the latest moves to improve their performance. The multi sport events offer each child a wide range of activities such as Basketball, Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Tag Rugby, Short Tennis, Rounders and Athletics. Very popular throughout the year. All dancing, all singing, all acting productions prove to be a huge success; parents, guardians and families are invited to watch the event finale. Always proves to be eventful and fun packed.

All venues have indoor and outdoor space.

Extra curricular activities

"Schools that offer more activities outside the classroom get better attainment results from their pupils"

A study of schools by the ISC shows a correlation between the number of extra curricular activities schools offer and the proportion of pupils getting better attainment grades.

The research found that participation in extra activities raised pupils' self-esteem and led to lower levels of depression and unauthorised absences.

All our activities are available during morning, lunch time and after school clubs.

Clubs can be offered on a 6 or 12 weeks rotation and there is no need to sign one year contracts. Our 2 week multi sport rotation proves to be very popular. Children have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities.

Payments can be school funded, parent funded or part-school part-parent funded.

Fund raising events

Active Learning also gives the opportunity to raise funds for your school, to allow you to expand and facilitate the sporting equipment that is currently available to the children.

The MULTI SKILLS CHALLENGE consists of a combination of movements involving agility, balance, co-ordination and speed and hand-eye control and works on a circuit rotation.

The MULTI SPORT 5 SPEED CHALLENGE involves a series of performed skills such as football shot, rugby pass, sprinting activity, cricket bowl and an over arm throw tested against an inflatable speed cage with an LED laser. All speeds are recorded and a combined score given; highest score being the winner.

All participants will be able to complete both challenges and an element of teamwork and communication is required to make it a fun filled day for everyone. Sponsor forms, equipment and certificates for each participant will be provided. Winning prizes will be given out to each participating class. Everything is organised and conducted by the Active Learning.

Junior club development

Active Learning provide many services and it is now possible to use our services for your junior sports teams. We currently assist with all toddler/kinder garden, mini soccer and specific age groups. We assist in the organisation of club development and delivery of sessions.

We can tailor all sessions to your needs, the following can apply:

Familiarisation - ball control, technical development at basic level

Participation – encouraging younger children to participate and making the sessions as fun as possible

Attacking play – counter attacks, providing support (overload), improving crossing, shooting and finishing

Defending – team shape, closing space, crosses, keeping the ball in front, knowing when and where to press, defending from the front, forcing the ball in one direction

Set pieces – attacking and defending

Possession - switches of play, retaining the ball, creating space, knowing when and where to pass

Strength and Conditioning, SAQ techniques – from beginner to elite

Goalkeeping – distribution, composure, leadership, organisation

Team cohesion - communication, and general technique working on team shape

Individual areas of the team can also be coached – back four and keeper, midfield four and strikers, or individual positions (minimum of four players must be included)
